Coconut chips / Coco chips by Biovita are a natural product resulting from the fragmentation of coconut shells and coconut fibers. It is free of any chemical additives. It can be used as an independent substrate or as a supplement to other substrates. Mixed with the soil, loosens and aerates.

Chips and coconut fiber are used e.g. as substrates in terrariums, aquariums, animal husbandry and crops.

Coconut chips are an ideal and recommended substrate for growing orchids.

Advantages:

– they are lighter than peat,

– absorb water well (regulate water management, coconut fibers behave like a sponge),

– absorb nutrients well with water and gradually release them,

– facilitate root development,

Coconut chips themselves do not contain too many nutrients, so if they will be used to grow plants, it is recommended to combine them with organic fertilizer.
